Gotham is my favorite! They have fully remote classes, but I would recommend taking the zoom ones because being live on zoom creates a better sense of community. I took a fiction 1 and then fiction 2 class with them and a group of us from the class continued meeting as a writing group for a whole year after! I’m actually currently enrolled in an intro to poetry class with them, and it’s great!
This is one of the most helpful pieces on this topic I've come across. I'm currently balancing editing my novel, trying to get my latest non-fiction book released and submitting pieces willy nilly/scattershot style much like you used to. I didn't know about those resources, and I will check them out (thank you!).
That list of things we should do is new to me, and really good to know.
The good news is I've recently had 2 pieces accepted for submission (yay!). The bad? They pay nothing - but hey, it's a start, even if it doesn't help my dire financial situation 😂
hahaha oh yeah that is so real—sooo many places don’t pay or barely do. But congrats on getting not one but two pieces accepted for publication!! That is huge! Clearly you’re already doing something right, but I hope this guide will help as you continue submitting :) I’m so glad to hear this piece was helpful and these resources were new to you!
This was so helpful! Thanks for sharing! Of the classes you mentioned, which would you recommend most?

Woahh zoom classes sound so perfect, especially being outside the states. Thanks so much!
They really are so great! I ended up using everything I wrote in the classes to apply to my MFA! They really took my writing to the next level
